DOOR TO DOOR IMPARTATION

Going door-to-door and witnessing in prayer is a practice deeply rooted in the scripture. It involves believers visiting homes or communities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, offer prayers, and engage in meaningful conversations with others.

The primary purpose of going door-to-door and witnessing in prayer is to share the message of salvation and reconciliation by the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and the only savior, express the essence of the power of the Holy Spirit, and offer prayers for the well-being of individuals and their households. This practice is often seen as a form of outreach, seeking to bring people closer to God the father through Jesus Christ and build stronger connections within the community.

As s church, this approach is not only a way to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ but also an opportunity to connect with people on a personal level, fostering a sense of community and understanding

SAMPLE PRAYER PRIOR VISIT

Father, we ask you to provide all that we need as we do the work you have given us to do. Fill our hearts with your love, help us to listen with compassion and to speak with kindness and confidence.

Jesus, we pray for the grace to go with out our preconceived judgments so that we can be true peacemakers. Stir in us the fire of your love and guide us with discernment. Fill our hearts with wisdom, generosity and kindness.

Holy Spirit, inspire us with joy and patience. Be at work in us so that we will bring good news to the downcast, healing to the brokenhearted, hope to the destitute, love and compassion to all who are suffering.

GUIDELINES ON HOW TO ACHIEVE EVANGELISTIC INTERPERSONAL HOUSEHOLD PRAYER

Ensure that visits are welcomed and invited. Inform the household,  send a note in advance about the purpose of the visits, and ask if they are open to receiving prayers.

Choose appropriate times for visits, avoiding early mornings, late evenings, or any times that may be inconvenient for families. We must respect people's schedules and routines.

Be aware of and respect cultural diversity within the neighborhood. Ensure that your approach is culturally sensitive and inclusive. Recognize and respect diversity. People have different beliefs, and it's essential to acknowledge and accept this diversity without imposing your views on others.

Train church members to approach families in a friendly and non-intrusive manner. Be warm, welcoming, and respectful of people's personal space.

Be mindful of people's privacy and personal space. Stay within the pace you are asked to .

Before going into the details of your visit,  consider engaging in open conversations first. Ask if the person is open to discussing religious beliefs, and respect their decision if they choose not to.

Clearly communicate the purpose of the visit, emphasizing that it is for evangelistic prayers. Be transparent about the intentions, and ensure that there is no pressure on individuals to participate.

When talking about your faith, focus on your personal experiences and how it has positively impacted your life. Avoid being confrontational or judgmental.

If someone expresses interest, consider sharing literature or resources about Jesus Christ that will help them become aware without pressuring them

Establishing a relationship before discussing religious matters is often more effective. Show genuine care, kindness, and empathy to build trust with others.

Invite individuals to attend religious gatherings or services where they can explore and learn more about your faith in a communal setting.

After the visits, consider sending follow-up communication expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect. Offer support and assistance without imposing.

Remember that religious beliefs are deeply personal, and not everyone may be receptive to discussions about faith at the beginning. It's crucial to approach these conversations with love, understanding, and a genuine desire to connect rather than with an agenda to convert. Always respect the boundaries and choices of others.

PRAYER WITH THE PERSON

God, our Father, thank you for this visit and the opportunity to meet with (Names). Lord you know each of us. You knew us from the day we were born, you know our hearts, our needs, and everything about us. You told us that you will never leave us or forsake us. You ask us to seek, and ye shall find, knock and the door will be opened, ask and it shall be given. We are all asking today for each of our needs, some spoken and some in our hearts. And so we pray together: Our Father…

Please Lord, walk with us and give us your strength in our worries and difficulties. Amen
